Lay it on me dawgs!!!!
« on: May 31, 2013, 09:24:04 am »
SORRY I'VE BEEN SUCH A SLACKER  :-\ I'M BAAAACCKKKKKK!!!!

First off a disclosure about the title - babybeast is a nickname from the momma - grandma would never think sweet loveable adorable Amelia could ever POSSIBLY be a baby beast. bwahahahahaha!

So the challenge is all about LAYERS!!! And this is a good example as I got carried away.
Like totally......

It all started with washi tape and working in the "triangle". The triangle is a visual thing that draws your eye around on the layout. From embellies to title to journaling and photo....

So I laid down some washi in the triangle except for this spot. However, I wasn't thinking "triangle" when i laid out the washi tape in the other spots. This spot looked "blank" as the rest started coming together. SO it does have some rubons, a bit o'bling and a butterfly. So it does match.

So technically to be a REAL triangle the top embellies should really be over to the right more. My bad. So there are 2 layers of washi tape - one grey polka-dot - the other a "film" looking one. I decided it needed more. So I found some rubons that I had FOREVER and whacked them up to fit. *gasp* I know. SO I layered the rubons right on over the washi tape. In both cases.

Then I decided it need a little something something and I hadn't used bling in FOREVER. Of course I had a stash and it had black in it. *Swoon* Total win win. So the bling is layered on top of the washi and rubon.  And of course a title is requred and that is layered on TOP of the washi, rubon and bling. (more or less). Now the title is red - because when I put the page together I made the mat red. I actually built the page around the red mat and it looked goofy because there is no red anywhere else. So to balance out the red, I added a title and subtitle in red and the little hearts that actually cover up a wonky corner. And the little journal strip is red & white and fits in as well - and covers up a goofy line.

SO IN CASE YOU FORGOT - THE CHALLENGE IS LAYER LAYER LAYER - PILE IT ON!!!
